Of all the different types of kimchi I especially love geotjeori or fresh unfermented kimchi.
One day I had a craving for fresh kimchi, so I bought some cabbage to make it.
But the cabbage wasn’t fresh, so I had to get rid of it all.
Feeling upset, I called my mom and told her all about it.
The next day as I was about to have breakfast, the doorbell rang unexpectedly.
I went to check who it was and my mom was standing there.
She had made fresh kimchi and come secretly to surprise me with it.
It was a two-hour bus trip by public transportation. but she had come all this way in the morning just for her daughter.
Watching my mom take the bus back home, tears welled up in my eyes.
