Why I Read
Back when I was little, I wasn’t an avid reader.
But starting in my twenties until now in my thirties, I’ve been reading consistently.
I was driven to start reading because of a short sentence I saw somewhere:
“A person who reads has a different look in their eyes.”
That inspired me to start reading, and now I totally get why reading is important.
First, I have improved my ability to express myself.
I can articulate my emotions more clearly and in a variety of ways.
Second, I’ve become more thoughtful with my words.
I understand now why writers can spend days agonizing over just one word.
As a result, I’ve developed the habit of considering how others might perceive what I say,
and I choose my words more carefully.
