세종에 오셨고 뭘 먹을지 고민이라면, 현지인이 줄 서서 먹는 중식당 초향각을 추천해요.
We finally made our way to Chohyanggak, a popular Korean-Chinese spot in Janggon-myeon, Sejong, known for its hand-pulled knife-cut noodles. It was a sweltering day, but we decided to head out for dinner after a long time—and it turned out to be the perfect choice.
Peak hours? Long lines.
붐비는 시간에는 긴 줄이 기본!
점심이든 저녁이든, 이곳은 늘 사람들로 북적입니다.
Whether it’s noon or night, the lines at Chohyanggak rarely die down.
하지만 우리는 붐비는 시간을 피해 저녁 7시 30분쯤 도착했고, 운 좋게 바로 착석할 수 있었어요.
We arrived at around 7:30 PM, past the dinner rush, and luckily got seated right away without waiting.
Cool air, warm welcome
폭염 속 오아시스처럼 시원했던 실내
바깥은 폭염주의보, 하지만 안으로 들어서자 시원한 에어컨 바람이 우리를 반겨주었죠.
Outside was brutally hot, but stepping into the restaurant was like walking into an oasis—cool and refreshing.
고풍스러운 중국풍 인테리어, 널찍한 공간, 시끄럽지 않은 분위기.
The vintage Chinese decor, spacious seating, and quiet atmosphere made it a comfortable spot to enjoy dinner.

윤기 나는 짜장소스와 탱탱한 도삭면 조합은 그야말로 찰떡!
The glossy black bean sauce clung perfectly to the chewy, hand-shaved noodles.
짜지 않고 적당한 간, 큼직한 고기와 양파가 식감까지 더해줘요.
It wasn’t overly salty and had a balanced flavor with chunky meat and onions adding texture.
면발 하나하나가 살아있어, 이 메뉴만으로도 만족할 수 있었어요.
Every bite of noodle had bounce and bite—honestly, this dish alone was worth the visit.
Jjamppong That Doesn’t Weigh You Down
진하지 않아서 더 좋은, 맑고 개운한 짬뽕
해물 가득, 맑고 얼큰한 국물.
The broth was light yet spicy, loaded with fresh seafood.
양은 조금 적은 편이었지만, 도삭면과 어우러진 맑은 국물이 깔끔하게 넘어갔어요.
The portion was modest, but the clean seafood broth and chewy noodles made it a satisfying bowl.
진한 고기국물 짬뽕을 선호하지 않는 제 입맛에 딱 맞았답니다.
As someone who doesn’t enjoy overly rich, meaty jjamppong, I found this refreshingly perfect.
A Trusty Sidekick: Gunmandu
기본템답게 든든했던 군만두
바삭하게 구워낸 8개의 군만두.
Eight golden, crispy dumplings landed on our table.
겉은 바삭, 속은 촉촉. 언제 먹어도 기대를 저버리지 않는 맛.
Crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside—exactly how good pan-fried dumplings should be.
이 집 군만두는 기본템 이상의 만족감을 줍니다.
Reliable and tasty, they were more than just a side—they were a highlight.

총평
음식도 분위기도 기대 이상이었고, 무엇보다 남편과 편안히 대화하며 여유로운 시간을 보낼 수 있어서 더 좋았어요.
Everything exceeded expectations—the food, the setting, and especially the quality time spent with my husband.
이제 세종에서 중식이 땡길 땐, 고민 없이 초향각으로!
