Amid strong wind advisories and freezing temperatures— sea winds, mountain gusts, blowing snow—fatigue had already reached its limit.

After a full day on the road, the fatigue didn’t just ease—it melted away
between the jacuzzi, the massage chair, and a bed that felt genuinely restorative.

Set along a main road in a recently remodeled building, the hotel felt clean, accessible, and easy to reach.
With no energy left to head out for dinner,
we opted for McDonald’s delivery—and the location made that effortless.
Convenience stores, gas stations, and fast-food options
are all close by, adding to the overall convenience.
☕ Cafeteria – Quiet, Practical, and Thoughtful
More than just a breakfast space, the cafeteria remains open until 11 p.m.
After dinner, a soak, and a massage,
we came down again for a late-night snack.
The selection isn’t extensive, but it’s smartly curated:
- Han River–style ramen machine
- Toast bread with jam and butter
- Juice and eggs
- Coffee machine
- Washing machine & dryer
Enjoying hot ramen and toast, it felt clear: the day had ended well.

From the owner to the staff,
everyone left a consistently kind impression.
One detail stood out in particular: contact lens cases and solution placed at the front desk.
It’s a small thing,
but it says a lot about a hotel that truly considers
what guests might need.

its aging facilities and service left much to be desired.
🍜 Korean Highway Rest Stop Food — Comfort on the Road
One quiet reminder from this journey:
Korean highway rest areas are generally clean, reliable, and surprisingly satisfying.
We ended up having both lunch and dinner at
Gunwi–Yeongcheon Rest Area and Munui–Cheongnamdae Rest Area (toward Cheongju),
and the meals were consistently comforting.
The menu choices were simple but dependable:
Ramen with boxed meals, sundae, tteokbokki, assorted fries,
ggoma gimbap (bite-sized gimbap), pork cutlets,
soft tofu stew, bibimbap, and cheonggukjang.
On long drives, this kind of predictability becomes a small but meaningful comfort.
