🌏 Before You Head Out

Before you head out, make sure to download the Naver Map app — it’s the most accurate navigation app in Korea.
Unlike Google Maps, which often struggles with Korean addresses and routes, Naver Map provides precise walking, driving, and public transport directions in English.
Available on both Android and iOS, it’s your best companion for navigating anywhere in Korea, whether you’re looking for hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, government offices, tourist attractions, restaurants, or simply getting around the city.

🎉 Festival Overview

In the heart of Jeollabuk-do, Sunchang — celebrated as the birthplace of Korea’s famous gochujang (red chili paste) — hosts the 2025 Sunchang Korea Tteokbokki Festa under the theme:
“Born in the Land of Gochujang, Reborn as K-Food.”

Visitors can indulge in over 80 types of tteokbokki, from classic street-style versions to creative fusion dishes featuring local ingredients like tomato, thistle, and rice syrup.
Eleven townships across Sunchang have developed 10 original ‘Sunchang-style tteokbokki’ recipes, including royal beef tteokbokki and pumpkin-chestnut tteokbokki — perfect for those who love to explore unique K-food flavors.

  1. I’ve made Tteokbokki at home a few times, and it’s surprisingly easy to do. Even though it’s not as perfect as the street versions, it still tastes amazing. Plus, you can add whatever toppings you like.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing! 😊
I totally agree — homemade tteokbokki is surprisingly easy, and customizing the toppings is the best part. Nothing beats the classic street-style version, but making it at home has its own charm too.
If you have a favorite topping combo, I’d love to hear it!
