In the heart of Jeollabuk-do, Sunchang — celebrated as the birthplace of Korea’s famous gochujang (red chili paste) — hosts the 2025 Sunchang Korea Tteokbokki Festa under the theme:
“Born in the Land of Gochujang, Reborn as K-Food.”

Visitors can indulge in over 80 types of tteokbokki, from classic street-style versions to creative fusion dishes featuring local ingredients like tomato, thistle, and rice syrup.
Eleven townships across Sunchang have developed 10 original ‘Sunchang-style tteokbokki’ recipes, including royal beef tteokbokki and pumpkin-chestnut tteokbokki — perfect for those who love to explore unique K-food flavors.
